So when we're in the salon creating gorge manis and carrying out, relaxing beauty treatments. There's one topic of conversation, that seems to come up time and time again. And this convo is ..... drum roll ..... "What's the difference, between Shellac and a gel manicure"
It's at that time we happily down tools, get the kettle on and open the biccy's and start to explain! So here's the short and sweet of it, "Shellac" is not a nail service or type of nail treatment. It is actually a brand of gel polish, created by the award winning nail brand CND. CND were one of the first brands, to pioneer the whole gel polish concept (E.g. A polish that, could be cured and dried instantly) and named their gel polish "Shellac". So because they were one of the first, it's often assumed that "Shellac" is a service instead of what it really is .... a brand of gel polish.
So to sum it all up in layman's terms, "Shellac" is a brand of gel polish. Therefore it is the exact same as a gel polish manicure service, there is no difference!! Pheww, we hope we've given you some helpful tid bits to demystify the whole "Shellac"/ gel polish debate. Until next time, Sermazettes xxx
